I bought my wife 2 dozen assorted roses for Valentine's Day. I'd like to experiment taking photos of these flowers while they're still in bloom. Any tips on settings and techniques that I should use would be appreciated.

Hey there,
I bought my girlfriend a small rose arrangment for Valentine's Day, and also wanted to snap a few shots off for her to keep. I decided i would use my 50mm f/1.8 II, and figured some window light would help a little bit. I used Av mode, and selected my desired aperture of f/2. I used the " outdoor " whitebalance setting, and snapped away.
Ill show you the results that i got with that setting. I hope i was somewhat of a help! Happy Shooting :D
