1st one looks soft and there isnt anything special about it aside from it being in the rain. Its not something you normally see.

2nd one is sharper and better overall but that referee really takes away in the background.

true critiques... nothing special, just rainy soccer. They loose quite a bit when I shrink them for the web, I don't have off-site hosting.
The white uniforms got quite "see through" and I'm not posting those.

I used an umbrella, luckily not much wind to get the gear wet.

I use an umbrella for rainy day soccer too. I stick the handle down the back of my jacket :)

1/160th sec. is a tough row to hoe for action shots.

Nice timing on the second shot, but too bad about the refs face being obscured (not really that big a deal - You shoots your shots, you takes your chances and see what comes out).
