This is very subjective - for some people, it would be too dark, but for others it would be just right. I don't know.

On the one hand I don't like so much of a dark, featureless void. On the other hand, I realize that you want to set a mood.

Since I don't get a strong feeling of a message here, I think that I have to respond that it is too superficial and that no message comes through to me - especially with regard to the light source. It's like it's a new play toy or gimmick - but that's all.
