This was the first owl that I ran across this morning or should I say, ran across me. I was parked on the side of the road doing what owl photographers do (??) and she flew right up beside the AZ and perched. Guess that she is a brave one cause if the Az didn't scare her, nothing will. Hell, it scares me:):):):):)
Light drizzle and really flat light.

Nice shot like always.
Spring must be coming for everyone if it is raining in Montreal.

Great pic but by the look in its eyes it had had enough of you and your cam :) :) :) :) :)

Another great shot. Amazing how they balance on those skinny branches.

Jerry,
He was awful wet and probably not too pleased about it. Rain sucks when you are a owl.:)

Ian,
Maybe the owl wanted to get in the Az with you and get out of the rain

Owl on a stick. I bet Dave is right. Poor owl was cold and wet. He just wanted to get cozy with you in the AZ.

Another great shot, Ian. Eventually you will be compelled to tell us how you attract them.

Perfect shot... or it will be when you clone out that tiny branch in the lower-left corner. :)
Really, it's animal magic.

Had a hair dryer but the extension cord was too short:):) Camera had no problems dealing with a little rain.

Very nice shot, Ian. When I first saw it, I thought this is one weary looking owl, probably from the hard winter. Then I read the part about the light drizzle. :D
I'm now starting to wonder if a few owl stragglers have decided to make Ile Bizard their permanent home. Shouldn't they be back home up North by now? You guys aren't baiting them with poutine, now, are you?

Just stunning! Pictures like that are why I aspire to the big boy's toys such as the MKII. For now, I'll have to make do with my D60....which I thought was adequate until I came to this site!

Leo,
Everyday I think that they will be gone and everyday they are still there. There are 4 birds along the stretch of back road. There might be a couple more along the ski-doo trails. I figure that as soon as really warm weather hits, they will be gone. I'm going to try and get up to see them everyday.
