New logo I am considering

So I want to give my business more of a brand starting with a simple logo. What are your thoughts on this? The little design is actually the letters A, L and P together.

I didn't get a l and p from it until I read that they were supposed to be there and figured it out.

It is a clever way to do it, but just looking at it initially, I was confused about what it was.

I'm not good at logos (just finished working with a firm on my own), so I'm afraid I don't have more helpful comments than that.

I agree it does not translate into ALP but I don't know if that is as important that just having something simple that people will recognize.

I see what your trying to do. I agree, it really doesn't have to look like the ALP. All you need is your "mark". That said, I would move the 'PL" down a bit to coincide to the 'a'.

Also, I would drop the line between your first and last name and then stretch the name photography from your first name to the 'Q" on your last name.

I like the part with writing, but where you've tried to combine the letters I don't like it. The way you've written your name is enough as a logo IMHO.

i like the divider and the symbol (even though ALP is hard to see). I think it is a recognizable symbol....my 2 cents

In your first example, I don't like the "alp" graphic, but I do like your name/text portion. Nice color selection and font and the all lower case is a nice contemporary look. I do like the appearance of the vertical bar "|" but at the same time, it looks a little crowded - maybe because it intersects the "p" in photography below your name.

bottom one, top one is horribly mismatched - you may want to turn on a grid in photoshop/illustrator and design to one?

that alp graphic looks tribal
