I have this bag and love, love, love it! However, I have a question: what on earth are you supposed to do with the weird little bungee cords on the front of the bag? I can't figure out a use for them and am considering just cutting them off. Thanks!

those cord are suppose to hold the tripod in place.

they are for tying the tripod when you onfold the tripod mount.
Also on the bottom of the bag theirs a rain cover. Enjoy it... I have that bag for trekking and such and a Crumpler 7MDH for urban

Or you can use it to hold the jacket.

Oh, I see. Well, I lost my good tripod long ago and haven't yet replaced it.

It's not just to hold the tripod, but things like jackets and hats that you may want quick access to.
