Would you recommend Adorama for your digital prints? Looking to printing 20x30 or something big. I used mpix once. Not bad. Looking for some place closer since I am in NYC as well. BTW, I think my film journey has just been cut short. I was really turned down by my 4x6 color negative prints. Too small to look at. I am so used to looking at bigger shots. Looks like I have to return my eos3. BTW, mpix charges a lot for their framing. Almost as if they don't give you choices at all. I can get a plastic frame from Adorama, 20x30 for under $20. With mpix, something like $70. :)

Yes! There glossies are equal to or better than shutterfly and the like. However, their metallics are out of this world!

When someone sets up a new account with AdoramaPix (which is FREE!) they get 25 free prints. Many people use these free 4x6s to order some prints on all the different paper types. I usually recommend they print something that they have already seen in print, that way they can compare. The only paper type we don't offer in a 4x6 size is the Silk, but if you'd like to email me with your mailing address, I can pass it along and see that you get some samples.

Generally, the silk paper is very well suited for any kind of portraits, esp. formal portraits like wedding shots. It delivers lovely skin tones and has a very delicate texture to it. It's more matte than our Lustre paper. The Kodak Endura Supra Lustre has a slight sheen to it, not as much as the Metallic or Glossy, but it's a good all around paper, a very fine surface texture and closest to "semi-gloss." The Supra Matt(TM) might be a good choice also, nice rich blacks and good detail with no texture to the finish. I'd say it depends on your subject matter, and personal preference. I'd go ahead and set up your account and order some prints for free and see for yourself. "

Hope this helps! Let us know if there is anything else you need.

If you ever have a query or concern regarding an order from Adorama Camera or AdoramaPix, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

I'll recommend Adorama! Printed off an 8x10 on their lustre and it looks great. Only took a couple of days before I had it using the cheapest shipping method.
