I've been using Photoshop for Windows for a few months switched to a mac and have been running into a strange problem. Everytime i open a photo a that was altered in photoshop on my Mac, photoshop boots up to view that photo but i never ran into that problem with windows. Is there a way to stop this from happening.

Hm, not too sure. My guess is no.
Since the file creator tag is set to PS, when you double click the image it will open in the program it is tagged with(PS).

That's one of the major differences that exist (or at least used to exist) between windows. On windows the file extension specifies which program opens to deal with a file. On a Mac the id of the program to use is embedded in the image, and the program opens with that. There has to be a way around that, but I don't know it.
I don't know much about macs so don't flame me if i'm wrong, but I think it's something like that.

OK if you dont want that PS opens this kind of images, you have to modify some settings, its so easy.
If you are running your mac in MAC OS X
go to the file, get the info (Apple+i). Then, there is a option there, that sais OPEN WITH: there is a list of applications, if it doesn't appear, there is OTHER option, so it will open your APPLICATIONS so you can choose wich one. PREVIEW for example.
Then there when you select this APP, you have an option there, that says: USE THIS APPLICATION TO OPEN ALL DOCUMENTS LIKE THIS: And a CHANGE ALL button.
If your are running on MAC OS 9.2.2 or oldest, let my look and I post it later, but its rarelly to be running on 9.2.2 this days.
