I have a barn door that fits my AB400...my ignorance is obvious here since I have absolutely no idea what it is used for? Any ideas/help? Thanks guys/gals...I really appreciate it.

used to control the spill of light. Move the doors however you need them to control the light. Also.... can hold a gel nicely

Barn doors are a control or light shaping modifier. You've got 2 sets of 'flags'... a vertical set and a horizontal set. By using either or both sets you can close down the aperture to control the shape and coverage of your light source.
Controlling spill is a popular use and you'll see barn doors being used on hair lights, accent lights, background lights and any source that needs to be controlled. They can also be used to control light that may flare into the lens.
Barn doors can be difficult to understand and use at the beginning but once you get the feel for them you'll see how powerful they are and how much control they offer.
