I have recently been having problems with my Canon S9000 printer with a red/orange tint on my prints. Faces are the most obvious problems. I did a cleaning and a nozzle check. Everything checks out ok. I tried pure auto mode printing in PhotoShop CS and manual printing using a profile and the results are the same.
One BIG goof I did a few weeks ago was install the wrong color cartridge in one of the slots. Being 40+ I can't remember what color I screwed up!!! I have run at least 7+ full page prints through the printer since that goof and performed a cleaning. I am not sure that caused the tint problem as I didn't notice the tint issue until this past weekend.
I found a web page with a color print test page for red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. All of the colors look on the money.
http://nemesis.lonestar.org/site/color_test.html
Is there any better color test that I can perform from the printer itself?
Next if this is toast, how is the Canon ip8500? I don't need the 9900, I found that buying the large format was a waste for me, I never use paper larger than 8.5x11. The 8500 uses the same print head as the 9900.
Thanks
Gary
