I love the shots with the skyline in the background. I wish we had that at DTW... all we have is corn fields.

I guarentee their marketing department came up a page short when they went looking for "other" NWA references...

Wow, those were great.
I had no idea downtown was possible in the view.
Can't imagine Post Road for those views.

Hi Scott;

I have not got any of the SW 737 yet. I went train spotting last weekend instead of going to MSP. I missed the water cannon salutes for the first SW flights :(

#3 could be from getting a little too close to raw jet fuel vapor on take off.
Kidding of course, but not impossible.

It was my job during cold engine starts 35 below zero for engine play by play as pilot gets them fired up and escort the L1011's as they head out to the runway.
The ships are all retired now with maybe one left in Amsterdam last time there.

It would blow your mind if you saw the truck traffic take shortcuts under a wing at night while the ship is rolling at 5 knots, and can be hard to tell that it's moving.

I would head them off with 1 ton dually blocking the way. And sure enough you would see the news where they did hit the aircraft.
But my wiper blades at best, last 3 days from raw fuel in back wash.

I would be a little careful removing lens out there.
If you can smell it heavy, your in it. In frigid temps more so.
It's just modified Kerosene, but it would eat the rubber wiper blades to mush making black streaks.

DArn nice shots.
I forgot to get out there just for the impressive cold engine start shots.
Nothing like it with the bright sun trying to cut through solid raw fuel vapor just before they light off.

I really have to get out there. I just recently picked up a 70-200 so I'd like to see what it can do. I also have a 1.4 TC which I suspect I'll need as well.

Great shots. I drive past MSP everyday on my commute and didn't think it was possible to get the skyline in the shots. I'll have to check that out sometime. Thanks for sharing!
