Well, live and learn, I guess. I bought a Tamrac Adventure 6 because it was small and on sale. Alas, it is really too small for my needs. In an different store, I saw an Adventure 7 and wish to heck I'd bought that instead.

So, if you are considering a Tamrac Adventure, I'd recommend getting at least the 7. The 6 is just plain too small.

I totally disagree! I absolutely love my Adventure 6.

It comfortably takes my 5D with Kirk L bracket and 24-70 f2.8L in the camera compartment as well as my 70-200 f4 L IS and 1.4x TC in their pouches with the retractable dog lead in the top compartment. Some space lefts over for a few bars of chocolate or a couple of filled Morton's rolls. iPhone, cleaning cloth, spare batteries and CF cards in front pocket. Two bottles for water/juice in the side nets.

Absolutely ideal for a two to three hours on the moors or in the hills with the dog, using my monopod as walking stick.

If I need more gear, I take my Mini Trekker.

I had an Adventure 9 and absolutely hated it! Too big and too heavy. Only plus point, my 17" Macbook Pro fitted in the laptop compartment. Terrible space for gear.

It just depends what your needs are ;)

Really? Interesting! I'll try again and maybe it'll be better. Is your avatarn your dog? I love greyhounds, so sweet!

I've got an adventure 6 also, and love it. Unfortunately ever since I got my 70-200 2.8 I haven't been able to use it since the lens won't fit.

Avatarn is Suki who passed away last year. Her life in pictures is here:

We fostered a big saluki cross for several months (nursed him back to health) who has now been rehomed (he landed on his feet!). Some pics here:

We're houndless at the moment. Will be looking for a whippet or saluki or cross when we get back from holiday early March.

Must be just too long, as my 70-200 f4 L IS (2cm shorter) in its cloth pouch fits nicely horizontal in the top compartment ;)

That tribute to Suki is good work.

That's how I carry my 70-200 2.8 when I use my Tamrac Aero 80.

Way too small for my 40D but if I had a Xti it might work very nicely.

Total impulse buy...My own fault should have done some research.

Is it week of the dead? All these old threads are popping back to life.

I have the Adventure 6 and I can say that it is quite a bit smaller than I originally thought.
