Hey I did my 1st E-shoot 2 weekends ago. They wanted more candid-style shots but I didn't really do that too much. Hardly any of the candid ones were worth anything to me. I had other shots that really show what this couple is all about... meaning, they like to have fun and goof off. Overall, I'm happy with the results. The two were good friends of mine... I'm actually serving in their wedding this summer. Please give me some criticism. I ESPECIALLY want and NEED to know what these pics look like on a calibrated monitor, and even more than that, how they should look in print. Thanks!

13 and 14 is awesome! Perfect for a two sided frame! Maybe flipped?

Very good! I LOVE the first shot but I wish they were holding hands. :( :) Great color and contrast. My only suggestion is to watch the cropping, missing some hands & feet in some that look a little odd. Good job!

FYI, 8 images per thread is the limit unless someone asks to see more.
These are really nice. Especially for a first shoot. My only problem is the overuse of the cliche'd railroad track, ie, starting off down the path of life... too many frames using it. But technically they are all well done and I appreciate the mostly natural processing.
I'd lose 12 due to the post and the bricks on the left and 15 due to the odd frame in the bkg.

Lovely shots you got there. Really like the reflection in that circular mirror thingy. Which one of your lenses did you use for these?

Man I couldn't remember what the limit was. I thought you were allowed more if they were links to other hosting sites. Should I take the second set down?
babuszka, I used the 50 1.4 probably most of the time, but I used the Tamron 17-50 a good bit too. I have the EXIF attached, feel free to look. Obviously, any shot that's at 50mm and an aperture greater than 2.8 is the 50 prime lol. :)
Thanks for all the comments guys
EDIT: O yeah, TheHoff, not trying to justify myself in any way or trying to snap back at you, but she was the one that wanted to go the tracks, I had no intention of going there until we were in the car on the way. I had NO IDEA what to do once we got there lol.

Great series! The couple looked like they enjoyed it and that is what matters. I like the handholding shot with the rail lines in the background. You framed it well. I was thinking her arm needed to be lower in #4 it's in a wierd angle to me. Other than that, things look good.

Yeah, good job for a first shoot. Bearing in mind that the couple likes to have fun and goof off..
1 ) This shot could have been improved by them holding hands. It's kind of cliché, but lots of couples want that kind of shot.
2 ) Nice
3 ) Don't like the seperation or the cropping or depth of field. I'd toss it, but that's just me.
4 ) Great Shot. The arm location seems a bit high though.
5 ) She lost her hands! Too bad that hand has the nice engagement ring on it
6 ) Good shoot, except watch your cropping
7 ) This works
8 ) Good. Her hands are a little tight on the edge of the frame though.
Normally you should stop at 8. Keep these next 8 up though since you already have them.
9 ) Fun shot, but the tracks lead me out of the photo
10 ) Fun shot too, this time the tracks lead me into the photo
11 ) This shot is fun and works
12 ) Brick at lower left hand corner needs to be cloned out or cropped out. I also don't like poles like that in my background. Turning you and them to get the pole out of the shot would have worked better for me.
13 ) and 14 ) work together as a fun shot, but not individually. Did you get one of both of them in focus?
15 ) Watch the hands when cropping. Clone out the black area
16 ) Good job

Good eye.. you're strict and precise which is really needed.
I really like shot #10 but would have been better to see a vertical version. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for all the comments and criticism everyone!
Can someone comment on how they look on their calibrated monitors and how they should look in print? I'm getting a Spyder 3 Pro within a week or so finally so hopefully that will ease my worries.

I have a calibrated monitor and they look fine. To get a bit more detailed.... 1, 2, 5, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, & 16 all have nice skin tones, with 15 being the absolute best. The rest, while they are nice photos do have some slightly blown areas on faces, but not enough IMO to make them bad photos by any means. The colors are rich and bright and they look natural. I would personally try to darken the skin in #11, the people are VERY pale in this one and may become ghosts in printing. #7 she's pretty pale and #12 he is, which might also not be very great when printed.
As far as printing, if you get them done at a decent lab, they should print good. I personally like Costco prints, if I don't like the finished product they usually will work with you to fix them.
Hope this helps.
