LW Dail

First, Middle, Last with a story!

Original first name Lora
Original middle name: Gail
Original last name: Walden

Married Mr. Dail.

(if you've thought ahead, you see the headlight of the humor coming down the track!)

Absolutely refused, kicking, screaming, and threatening bodily harm to be Lora Gail Dail. We may LIVE in Oklahoma, but I am NOT from here!

So Gail got kicked to the curb and my maiden name became my middle name.

Side note: since my father died a couple of years ago, carrying the name seems to keep him close.

Last name Doucette, friends call me Deuce, LeuceDeuce on poker sites so I carried it over here.

intrinsicvalue
3rd of March 2008 (Mon), 08:41
In my high school days I used the screen name CrowndPo that was generated from my name (Stefanie, the feminine form of Stephen meaning "crowned one") and a shortened version of my last name (Poteet) that my Spanish teacher came up with my freshman year. (He watched some kung fu movie where the dude's name was Master Po, I was a former gymnast and he somehow drew a connection between the two.) Po stuck, and he continued to call me that for the next four years.

Anyway, after moving away for college I wanted something that people didn't think was conceited and that perhaps hinted at something more. In a society very consumed with external appearances, actions, and connections, I have always felt that it's who I am, not who I know, that makes me someone worthwhile. Thus intrinsic value, and I've used it ever since.

Mark1
3rd of March 2008 (Mon), 09:14
Mark1 is a play from "Mark won". This was heard a lot, late on Friday and Saturday nights. I was one of the heavy hitters in street racing in Maryland/D.C. When I started joining forums, they all were car sites... I just kept it as I joined other forums as I have a ton of signature images to put on posts. To bad they don't allow them here.

Lonnie
5th of March 2008 (Wed), 18:31
LHONEY2 was my login when I was in college. First letter of my first name, last five of my last name, and apparently I was the second person with that combination to go through LSU.

Killjoy
10th of March 2008 (Mon), 18:00
Well, my wife and I (then she was my girlfriend) were trying out one of those Virtual Reality game places. They told us we needed a handle, or a codename. This was around the time of Top gun, and everyone was picking names like Iceman and Maverick (how original:rolleyes:).

Seeing as I have the uncanny habit of ruining peoples jokes by either knowing or figuring out the punchline, Killjoy kind of stood out. So I used that for my "call sign" and it has stuck ever since.

Refemall
3rd of June 2008 (Tue), 10:42
Long long ago, in a chat room far far away, I was looking for an alias that was original. So, I started thinking sports phrases and lingo.

I decided Referee Them All was fairly randomly stupid enough to be original, but decided to shorten it. Referee Them All.

Using the same one for xbox live, people always pronounce it Reefemall, but its actually Refemall. Phonetically, Ref-em-all.

20droger
3rd of June 2008 (Tue), 14:00
Mine is blatently obvious: my name is Roger and began the Canon DSLR thing with a 20D and two lenses. We have since expanded beyond the 20D and those two starter lenses--and have the flat wallet to prove it.

All I did was change the i to a 1 and well...there you have it...vgk1nka1dx. Also same name I use on xbox live currently when I play on my 360.

golfecho
11th of August 2008 (Mon), 13:44
I work in aviation. The international phonetic alphabet for each letter is very specific. So my initials are GE, and the phonetic letters in aviation speak are Golf Echo. Run them together without caps and you get my moniker . . .

SheRidesABeemer
3rd of October 2008 (Fri), 18:11
I used to change my forum name when I signed up for non motorcycle forums, but I finally recognized the value of using the same name...people know me from place to place. (And it Googles well : Results 1 - 10 of about 8,200 for sheridesabeemer )
Some people think of Beemer's as cars, but you don't ride a car...you ride a bike.

Andrushka
3rd of October 2008 (Fri), 18:26
my name is Andy and when I first visited Ukraine I was 15. I would introduce myself as "andrei" - the Russian equivalent for Andrew. Well, my new Ukrainian friends thought it would be funny to call me Andrushka, which is what you would call a very young boy with the given name of Andrei. Well i told my friends/family this when i returned to the States and the name stuck for some. Now, I live in Ukraine and the name is more fitting than ever.

EnronRocks
3rd of October 2008 (Fri), 20:40
Well I was a heavy investor in Enron before they went under. Unlike most of their investors and employees, I sold all my shares before they started to go downhill the first time. I sold all my shares in August of 2001 when they were prices at $90.15 a share.

madberry
4th of October 2008 (Sat), 01:04
Some where in the 90's I got my first cable internet connection. The name I wanted was taken which made me mad hence madberry, [mad]Berry to be precise but not all websites allow brackets, was born.

tin.risky
4th of October 2008 (Sat), 05:51
My first name is Kristin, my middle initial is Y. Scramble up the letters and you get tin.risky. There are plenty of other combinations (stinky.ir being one off the top of my head), but this sounded the best.

I can't believe I haven't posted here before.

I must have posted here before... oh well, it doesn't come up in my subscriptions, so I guess this is my first post here.

Anyway, I got my name from this video:
http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=kmdfsU6v3n4&feature=user

I use to use it in computer games (Alien vs Predator Multiplayer) because I couldn't think of any other name.

My avatar is another character I played in a video called "Bing". The characters name is actually "Bing Boy".

You can see a little of Bing in action here: http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=HCjFTfaarK4
(in this video I play "Dr. Scorpio" the villain).

A "summary" of Bing is here: http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=pwrIQ-bIISk
You can see my avatar dude.

flaneur
3rd of November 2008 (Mon), 12:04
Flaneur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fl%C3%A2neur) is a French word that means "to stroll, or walk around a city to experience it." There are many reasons it is a significant name for me.

- I'm French Canadian
- I like travelling and people watching
- I like word games, and flaneur is almost an anagram of my surname (LaFleur)
- It's usually available when I sign up for an online account

When flaneur is already taken, I add the number 13 to the end of it. 13 symbolizes that I not only observe people, but I often see the darker or unlucky side of human nature (in my emergency services career).

To add to my French obsession, my family has a history of using fleur-de-lys symbols in various projects since it has both heritage and surname significance.

Doobsy
4th of November 2008 (Tue), 19:30
I was overweight as a young bloke and the guys at school used to call me Lardia.
Then this vanilla/choc, ready made custard came out and it was called DubelVla (or something) and it was being talked about one lunch-time then one of my mates combined it with lardia creating Doobovlardia which was shortened to Doobov then became just Doobs or Doobsy. It's an unflattering nick-name that has just stuck within my close circle of mates.

Ziffle
12th of November 2008 (Wed), 15:17
A nickname back in the military (USAF).....

It was first given to me from an old salty-dog Master Sargent who said i reminded him of Arnold Ziffle The Pig from Green Acres TV show. (Arnold is my last name) i was a smart ass in the military - who knew.

It became infamous when I got away w/ telling a Captain (i was a 2 stripper) to "shut the 'bleep'-up and sit your 'butt' down"... during a pre-Persian Gulf (1st conflict) trip out to Diego Garcia. The Captain was trying to tell us how to do our jobs.
I was a crew dog (crew chief) and we where ground re-fueling our KC-10 for the next leg to Guam.

Did i mention the Captain happen to be the aid of one 5-star General who was in charge of the entire Pacific Command and had the ear of the Secretary of Defence.

Long story short - i survived - never got in trouble and "Ziffle" became my name to everybody in the KC-10 world....

"dog" is simple. I'm a guy, and according to women all men are dogs.

There are many interpretations depending on whioch culture is using the term and the context in which it is used. I prefer this: I honor the place in you which is of Love, of Integrity, of Wisdom and of Peace.

Years ago, back in Junior High, my best friend tried to think of a nickname for me while sitting on the toilet and eating a snickers bar. Escuro + Snickers Bar = Escobar. Over time, it just got shortened to esco.

In the sales world a person that is successful is often called a "closer" I was given my nickname by an old timer salesman after I had a record setting month, someone said I was a good closer and he said " No, he is DA CLOSER" In a Mike Ditka/super fan accent. It just stuck from there. I changed the S to a Z just to be different...

BigStig

Big Motorsports fan an love Top Gear.
Not really a good enough driver to be the Stig but when they showed the American episode and had Big Stig, Stig's American Brother I new that was me.
A bit over weight hell an inch shorter and I would be round :)
Also an ex Brit moved to the USA in 1990
So it seemed to fit.
Now my friends at the local race track and Ice racing Forum all know me as Big Stig.

Cheers SteveP

As like most, back when dialup was introduced, I needed a handle. I was really into horror movies then and my all time favorite character is Michael Myers from John Carpenters "Halloween". I started using Michael Myers but people thought my real name was Michael so I wanted to change it. In the movie, Dr. Loomis (his psychiatrist) refers to Michael as "The Shape" ie. the shape of evil, since he really can't be considered a man anymore.

I thought about changing it but its used so many places, I would get confused.

YORCHI
6th of March 2009 (Fri), 07:40
My real name is George (Jorge). When my parents would call me "Georgie" as a kid, it sounded like "Yorchi' because of their accent. It started with my parents, then my family started calling me that, then when I started to get friends they started calling me that and then when I made it to middle school everyone started calling me that...

Now it's what everyone that really knows me calls me...

I was at this festival and during one moment of silence at a talk I sneezed (I got hay fever and sneeze a lot!) Then the guy who spoke called me Sneezy when I asked a question later during the talk.. It stuck...

Since Sneezy was taken, I switched the e's to 3's, hence I am Sn33zy ^^

It's the first half of the primary email address I use (meaning pci2000 @ xxxxxx.com, for example).

When I first signed on for that provider's free email service over 12 or 13 years ago, I didn't want to use firstname/lastname, or first initial/last name. I wanted something more anonymous, but still professional.

At the time, being a tech guy in the mid- to late- 90's, I chose to combine 2 computer terms - PCI (which is a computer hardware bus architechture), and 2000 (for Y2K).

Yeah, how original for a computer geek, I know, lol!

Nick's Headshotzx... "Headshot" from the time I just started playing Counter-Strike when I was 9, back in '02 and the name stuck with me throughout my CS years up till now. The "zx" is the initials of my name, Zexun. So there ya go.

It's also quite fitting cos I love shooting headshots of people. Heh.
