I anyone else dieing for this to come out? I'm anxious to see if it can match the ef-s 10-22. It is an EX lens. Although probably not as big of a deal at shorter FL's it has HSM. while the canon doesn't [have USM] edit-yes it does

I'll be interested in how it performs, as I am currently exploring the super wide end and like the sound of 10mm...
I'm not sure waht you mean by this statement though, The Canon 10-22 does have USM, you imply that it doesn't here...

Opps, you're right. I remember noticing the other day USM wasn't listed as one of it's features (don't remember where i saw that though).
