Spring is slowly thawing the ice on the small stream. The melting water is flowing on top of a thick layer of ice during the day. Last night was cold, a few degrees below freezing point, and this morning there were thin layers of ice hanging along the shores of the stream. That ice had formed during the night when the water level slowly was sinking.
The patterns you can see in those thin layers of newly formed ice are fascinating. Here are a few shots.
