I'd like peoples comments on this still life/product shot, the theme is "blue" and I had an empty bottle of Blue Bawls Guarana kicking around.

Taken with an EOS 350D, 60mm Macro, heavily snooted 580EX on 1/4 power for the writing, bottle is sat on gelled(blue sweet wrappers:o) hole in the background paper with a single 12W CFL bulb underneath.

Iso 100 5s exposure, f16

Interesting shot. A little dark for my tastes though, got any other shots with different lightings configurations?

um, not really, they're mostly like this, A friend has suggested that I add some light from behind to show the edge of the bottle, I also want to re-shoot to hide the flash overspill.

Most of the other shots from the series either don't have the 'Bawls' logo illuminated enough, or have too much flare in.

How's this for a re-visit?

Most of the setup is the same, except the lettering is light with a snooted constant lamp, and a hand-held flash is used for hairlights.

IMHO definitely an improvement over the original image. Lighting is alot more effective. Like it!

Thanks Adawar, I think in hindsight I should have gelled the flash as well, if only to disguise the direct reflection as something else.
