View Full Version : Is it easier to manually focus with the 350 than the 300D?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has upgraded to the 350 from the 300D and can tell me
if it's easier to manually focus with the 350? My 300D is great and the only thing I
don't like about it is my 40+ year-old eyes have a difficult time focusing manually
when needed. Yep I set the diopter for my eyes.

From reviews I understand the viewfinder on the 350 is actually smaller than the
300D but is brighter. So I'm hoping brighter means easier to focus!

Thanks

John V.

Not much,. the viewscreen is supposed to be "improved" but I did not perceive a large improvement based on my very casual trial.

still the same kind of pentairror viewfinder type, so I doubt any big improvements were made as far as MF accuracy.

Beware: Don't look through the viewfinder of a 1Ds :-P

Well that's two strikes against the 350. Do I hear three?

With all kidding aside, how about the 20D viewfinder and manual focusing? Better than the 10D?
