#8.... "Black shoe on a monitor!" (to the tune of their new song "Black Crow on a Tombstone"

Great show, saw them in Milwaukee... black metal /metal shows (especially opening bands ) are always sooo dang dark!!

I enjoyed the show, and as usual wish bands would invest in some better lighting...

I hate red front lit stages, I play and photo bands and not only are red lights horrible for washing all color out of a photo but they're always hotter too!! I like 7 alot too!!

Holy Mongonoids, what a dreary set! You and Narlus must be competing for the "Shot in the Worst Lighting Humanly Possible" comp.

Yeah, but Narlus works it better than I do, he always wins first place.

Probably because he is a LOT older! :-)

Holy Mongonoids, what a dreary set! You and Narlus must be competing for the "Shot in the Worst Lighting Humanly Possible" comp.I've never even tried myself, but I'm pretty sure having easy access the Middle East downstairs offers one a good start in such a competition.

Went to the Palladium (downstairs) once, but ended up spending most of my time outside trying to convince the bouncers that I was sober enough to be let back inside for the last band (Blood For Blood). Needless to say, there wasn't even consideration of photography on my part that day.

what are you getting me for my birthday in 3 weeks time? :D

i've never shot @ the Palladium but the lighting looks challenging to say the least. it could definitely use more fill; Joe, have you tried this in post at all?

i like 2 the best, w/ 1 and 6 next.

yeah, the ME down is certainly a challenging spot to get good photos. but they book good bands, so i keep going there.

Honestly I didn't do much to these pics at all. I just got CS4 the other week so I expect my processing to be a bit better, but in my view, if you don't start out with a great picture, then you don't end up with a great picture.

My big complaint is that I am behind the times still using the XTi...but being out of work since June doesn't help...

Waterj2....getting kicked out of the Palladium is not easy to do!!!! I might have to side with security on this one!
