WTB: 550ex

Looking for a 550ex (or a 580ex if you want to part with it & give me a great deal) in good shape to use with my 20D. Looking to pay around... the least I can get away with :D. Seriously though, I am a full-time student and soon to be father so I cannot buy either of these flashes brand new. PM me if you have something available!

Man, I've been looking for a 550ex as well.... not prices hardly go below 250....

Phil300Z, no one will part with a 550EX in working condition for $250....and you want a reliable tool. Your best bet is getting a Sunpak 383 or Vivitar 283 flashes. Both are around 69 bucks at B&H. If you learn how to use them, you'll be able to get great results....Vivitar flash goes way back, but Pros still pack a couple of Vivs in their bags:)

I think I saw one today at Pro Photo Supply for $250. It had nothing but the flash and was lightly scuffed.

With the amount of stuff you have now, you might start with the 420EX which should do anything you need. Later on you can upgrade the 420EX to the 550 or 580 when you need it. You can certainly get a 420 for the price you're looking to spend.
