Ancient Khmer city in Northeast Thailand, plus night markets!!!

Hi All,

A recent trip to Thailand I spent a lot of time around the small city of Phimai, which a thousand years ago was an outpost city of the Khmer civilization - this is the culture that spawned Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

The centre of modern Phimai is the original old Khmer city complete with Buddhist and Hindu temples.

The first few shots were taken during the day. Later on that evening there was a light and sound show that really showed the old cities glory.

Finished off with a couple of shots about the night markets.

These are fantastic - one of these days I swear I'm going to get over there on a side trip from the Philippines. I've been wanting to photograph Thailand for as long as I can remember.
