Well typical English Bank Holiday weather at the weekend but after promising myself a weekend off I was bored by Monday so headed off to Croft for the Sprint. This is basically like a hillclimb but without the hill;) ie the competitors do timed laps and don't actually race against each other. There was a wide variety of machinery on view from Specials through ex group B rally cars to pretty stock motors, here is a small selection of what was on view.
All taken with Canon 1DMKII and 70-200 f2.8 & 100-400

Excellent shots Ian. Last one is excellent - the expression and clasped hands really make it.
Never made it to Croft - still suffering the after effects of a full day out in the cold and damp at Harewood. Decided that staying in bed on Easter Monday was more attractive than another day out in the cold. I must be going soft:o .
Cheers,
Simon.

Just looked at your website Ian - looks like quite a few of the hillclimbers from Sunday headed on up to Croft for the sprint - a lot of cars I recognise.
Simon.

Cool Shots. Why the X tape on the headlights?

Really nice shots Ian. I know quite a few of the guys running there.
Mills, it is to stop glass falling on the track if a headlight gets damaged. The idea is that its supposed to hold the broken glass in the fixture.
It looks like I was the only one with nice weather. Actually, I was almost praying for cloud cover at the back end of the day so I could shoot from Lodge down to Warwick Bridge, and just in time it arrived at 5pm.
As you may be aware Ian I am not shooting at Harewood any more this year, which is just as well as I have filled the spots with a couple of paying sessions at Silverstone, a couple of trips to Cadwell and one to Knockhill. I'll update you when next we meet.

Should have been able to figure that out. Thanks Kenny.

I guess that makes the guy in yellow car an extremely confident driver.
I like those shots with a tire off the track.

Its great to see some older cars lifting a wheel and pushing it hard like in 2 and 3. All the shots are great :)

I really like the last one (one of the reasons I posted it;)) The young lady in question was just about to do her timed lap and seemed to be in deep concentration maybe even praying, I have also just noticed the guy in the white vw golf could be praying also, at least he has his eyes closed:rolleyes:
Thanks for the other comments
Cheers

Yup, made on the Reliant production line right alongside the good old "plastic pig" the Robin. :p ;)
