So, I was finally able to try my first formal shoot with my 3 week old daughter last night, and about 5 shots into it, she decides to go pee. So, I took one last shot (which turned out to be the best), cleaned her all up, and put everything away.
Looking at these today, they look way darker than they did on my home computer last night. Please, C&C and let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.

Those are sweet. You could probably up the constrast a little more to make them pop!

Thanks. That was the best of the 5 I took (still trying to figure out the best way to edit out that little puddle at her feet).

Thank you. Yeah, I need to do something with them. I'm thinking of just re-shooting with something brighter than what I was using so I can get a better exposure.

I played with the contrast and sharpness a bit, and slightly changed the crop. I thought there was too much white space on the bottom.
I also cloned in the "clean" foot from one of the other shots. It was a quick job, about 2 minutes, so you could do much better.
If you have a color version, one suggestion would be to play with the contrast of the blanket a bit so it's not as white.

Wow, thanks. Your edit looks tons better to me than my originals. I'll have to give it another try with the editing this weekend. And yeah, I shouldn't have a problem making the blanket darker.

Congrats on your new beautiful baby girl. She is a doll. I love them all, but #3 is my favorite. I think the edited one is a bit to bright. Which could just be my monitor. I would also keep a copy for yourself of the photo with the pee puddle. When you look back at the photos years from now it will bring back memories.

I'll give that a try as well. For me, looking back at these, I feel that they need more contrast, and the lighting that I had on her just isn't giving it to me.

Thank you very much. I'm definitely keeping a copy of that one, and won't hesitate to show it off years down the road. Oh, my daughter's going to love me!

I'm all for #3 - no editing and the idea of keeping the puddle, too.

Thanks. I actually tried making a birth announcement card with that picture, but my wife quickly disapproved of it. She said there's no way we're sending everybody a picture with a puddle of pee in it. Oh well, I tried.
