Online Marketing via Content Islands

A Content Island is a term I've coined for the process of creating a set of pages that link to each other for the purposes of online marketing. This can be a full website, but it doesn't have to be and usually isn't. Rather, anywhere you post information such as POTN, other forums and groups you use, blogs, and social networking sites become content islands because they all tend to link back to your profile pages as well as other information that you've written.

Over time, these increase in value and help further your primary goals of promoting your photography business because each content island feeds traffic and "PageRank" to your website.
