I just received a used Canon EF 20mm from an FM forum member, good deal, nice piece of equipment, immaculate glass. I bought this thing for a trip and I want to get some good shots that I may not have planned on in my itinerary. Anyway, I'm flying to Las Vegas on Thursday and I'll hit a few parks out there before driving back. Taking photos of state capitol buidings is one of my hobbies, so I'll be hitting Denver, Cheyenne, Lincoln, Topeka, Jefferson, Springfield, Indianapolis, Colombus, Harrisburg. I'll make a brief stop in Baltimore for an Orioles game on April 15th, then I'm driving up to NH.

So, the biggest question is this: anything between Cheyenne, Wyoming and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania that I ought to take a few minutes to shoot?

I'll post pics when I get back, but it'll probably take a while as I expect to take in excess of 20GB.

You'll be going right through Dayton, OH, by the sound. There are several Wright Bros.-related museums/landmarks as well as the National Museum of the US Air Force (formerly the US Air Force Museum).

how much did you pay for the lens? I'll be waiting for some samples. I can never get enough :)

If your route from Baltimore to NH takes you up US 15, the gorge at Watkins Glen, NY is a great shoot.

Have Fun,

It all depends on how much extra driving you want to do. It would be a shame to be in Wyoming and not see Devils Tower, and that's not too far from Mt Rushmore. OK, so it's 250 miles from Cheyenne to DT, but what the heck... And then there's the badlands...

Between Lincoln, NB, and Topeka, KS, you could stop by the Geographic Center of the US, in Lebanon, KS.

Baltimore's Inner Harbor is pretty cool, but touristy. Downtown Baltimore is great for street photography--stick that 20mm in some faces.
