I am a newbie, trying to learn more about photography and especially Photoshop. I've lurked a little bit, now I figure I might as well just jump right in.

I wanted to share recent favorite photo with you guys and ask what you might do to it in Photoshop.

This is my friend's baby. I would love to edit this photo to make it really "pop," as I know this shot was one of his parents' favorites from our little photo shoot.

This is straight out of the camera, I haven't done anything to it yet. Unfortunately, I can't shoot in RAW because I don't have the software to process, so this was a JPEG. It was taken in the evening using my Speedlite EX II as a bounce flash.

Can anyone offer some cc and tips on how to make this better?

This was my try... levels, curves, did a selection on the eyes and did contrast using curves, burned the edges, dodged the eyes...not sure how it will look once I post it...

Cute pic!

Adorable baby! I played with the shot a bit....slight levels adjustment, curves, sharpen, cloned out other person in background, cleaned the skin up a touch & dodged the highlights in the eyes.

photoshop cs2 - autolevel, increase sat by +5, vignette, slight sharpen, some skin blurring
