View Full Version : Harvest the Storm . . .

During the harvest, this fall past, we were rained out a few times and so I was able to take a moment or two to capture the scene. I am a every day camera packer . . . you just don't know when the shot of a lifetime will present itself to you.
If you look in the upper left you can see the storm coming in from the south-west. The humidity went through the roof and you just can not thresh the grain from the head if it is not dry. So we get a nature break and the air can use a cleansing as well. Harvest is such a special time . . .

Thank you . . . I was not sure a 'farm' shot would fare well here. We tend to photograph those things that surround us, always looking for new, but we are somewhat captive to our environment.
My kind thanks as always.

A view of the business end of a Gleaner . . . beautiful machines. Fun to drive, a wonder to watch the sea of grain taken in by the padles.

They are both wonderful.... did you shoot them with the 20D or your "other" camera? They are so slear and I love the angles you shot from.

These are before my Pro 1 Maureen, they are both taken with the G5. My youngest son has this camera now. We just recycle everything photo wise in the family . . . best value for the dollar. I like the first one best, and thus this is why it is the top photograph. But I think the crew here prefers the second one. It is in how we view things known and unknown to us. There is a almost a religious tone to the first one. The second is a 'typical' shot.
Thanks one and all.
