Okay guys, I have just upgraded to a 20D - my wife already had the 300D and she cannot decide whether to keep her original 300D (silver) or take mine which is a black one with a battery grip - the black one was exclusive to Jessops in the UK. She cannot decide which one she prefers - I have told her the black looks more professional. She would welcome any comments.
Cheers.

The black definitely looks more professional, and if it didn't cost more, would be the one I would've gotten.
If they were/are the same price and/or free (which it sounds like... free that is) then I'd go with the black one. Obviously, the grip WILL work on either and Is trongly suggest she try it with the grip to see if she likes it better. My hands are big so the grip is almost neccesary... if her hands are petite then the grip may be too much :)

Even if you don't really care about the color, some people do.. which might help you selling the camera in the future. I would keep the black one.

I'd keep both in the family. Never know when you will need a spare.
I like the black as they don't seem to show wear as badly.

I have the silver 300D and wished I would have gotten the all black model. The battery grip you should keep no matter what just in case you need to use it again if she don't like it. but my girlfriend uses my 300D and she loves the grip she says feels more secure (meaning she is affraid of dropping it).

The black version does look more professional, but more impotantly it is much more durable I have a silver 300D body and find the silver very delicate, there are some scuffs on the top of the built in flash and the silver is rubbing off on the corners of the body, it how looks well used and tatty, go for the black version.

keep whichever has fewer actuations on the shutter. It'll last longer.

I'd have the black, so long as it wasn't double the shutter actuations of the silver. Actually I might still have the black.

Thanks guys - Laura's just been reading all your replies and black it is!!!! Laura says thanks and you have all made good valid points for her.
The black is the newer one - she is still not sure about the battery grip but will give it a try - whenever she turns the camera round she never uses the grip's buttons but is going to give it a try - she does find it heavy with the grip and she does have arthritis in her wrists and also carpal tunnel syndrome but Skyphix you made a good point about your girlfriend saying it feels more secure
and of course JamieH swung it for the black.....ha, ha :)
This ones for the wife... BLACK!!!!!!
