Tree in the lake

My first attempt, the local park, with my Canon 350 XT and kit lens.

Its very busy. Branches everywhere! My eyes are just spinnin cause theres so much to look at.

I would recommend trying not to get so much in your shots.

I had the same problem... in fact i still do. Just did today. I see something neat looking in the woods, and i end up taking a picture of a bunch of trees, the feeling is missing. I've yet to find a way around it, you just can't take a picture of such a forest without it looking busy. This may be hard, but try getting at the base of that tree and shooting outward towards the branches, making sure to get some of the water around the base. You may need some rubber boots. :confused:
