What kind of light are you shooting in? I found I needed +9 when shooting indoors under tungsten. But was around 0 when shooting fluorescent. :lol: So I just keep it at around +9 since I use it mostly indoors to take photos of my kid.

It's been just in indoor tungsten - and also sunlight - they both seems pretty consistent at +15 MA. It could be my 7D actually - most my primes in the past required MA due to some front focus. Oh well - it's amazingly sharp now and I love the color SOOC - love this lens already!

BTW: That's odd that the focus changes during different lighting - I've heard of it happening - but didn't think it was an issue with the 24L II. Any of your other lenses have that phenomena?

PS - How do you like those Flex TT5s? I was always interested in trying them.

I've only had them for 2 days so far. Bought them used so the Mini's battery was dead (ordered a new one). Been too busy as of late (still at work today) so no chance of getting to a store and picking up a battery.

The FlexTT5s seem to be great. I tried it out last night (as you can see both photos of my son in this last set).

I had a single 580ex2 on a shelf pointed up for bounce, and used the other FlexTT5 as the transmitter. Shooting them through ETTL mode.

I'll have to pick up the AC3 later (probably not until late next year) if I want to setup zones and have the ability to adjust on the fly.

That vignetting was added in post, although you are right that there is a certain amount when shooting at f/1.4.

Yeah, mine was nuts. I found that it was decent stopped down to f/8 or above at MA +20, but wide open to about f/5.6 it was sometimes front focusing even at +20, and then would shift to the back every once in a while as well. Either way, with a warranty, I'm not sure that I should even be willing to accept +20...

I agree, I am glad all of my lenses fall into a +/- 10 adjustment range, but if something is at +/-20 and still not right it definitely goes in.

Just ordered mine! I saw the price of this baby is going up 6% come February so I decided to jump on it! Brand new gives me peace of mind as well.

I plan on replacing one of my 7d's with a 5dIII when it comes out (as long as it isn't crazy expensive, otherwise I will go with a 5dII). Planning on going FF, it was a tough call between this and the 35L. The 35L just seems to make magic images on FF, but on crop it is a focal length I almost never use, want. I like wide so the 24L seems like the perfect choice with a FF and crop body!

Hopefully you have a better experience this time around. The reason I got rid of my Sigma 30mm was because I am setting up for FF (5D3 or 5D2) as well. Looking forward to some pics!

He does quite a bit of dancing/wiggling right now. He's terribly happy with himself now that he realizes he can walk. We've got some great videos of him being silly.
