Ordered a canon BG-E2N Battery Grip from Equipment Express,
they rang me today to say out of stock,
they said "could not order anymore as it was discontinued".
Is this right???
Are canon bringing out a replacement???
As I would rather wait and have the new model...
Regards
Marchy.

If you dont want to spend all the money on a grip you could go for the Phottix version from ebay seller Etefore which is great, there is a recent review somewhere on this board & i have written a review on FM. (It's only about £50.)
If you really must have the Canon version WEX has it in stock at £134, or you could wait for PMA in March to see if they announce a new one.

Maybe he thought you wanted the BG-E2, which was replaced by the BG-E2N

Wow, that would be great. I wonder how they would improve it? Maybe some better water proofing or auto focus control?
I hope this is true. I was pretty close to pulling the trigger for the Phottix, but if there is a new one with better features I'll wait.

Wasn't the BG-E2N just semi-recently released? I think he was looking at the BG-E2, as already stated above me.

Maybe they just refuse to sell it at the listed price. Did they try to get you to replace it with a more costly grip? It may not even be a higher cost one but one that they make more of a profit on.

just said sorry, and would sort refund out. She was very nice about it.

I just received my Phottix one along with 2 BP-511A battery equivalents and it is very close to the original Canon at a fraction of the cost.
