It's quite clear that the gary fong diffuser will not fit on a 580 ex ii, however with a simple act of placing the diffuser in the back window of your car, the plastic will become "looser" as the uv + heat make the plastic less firm.
so at the end of the day, the gary fong diffuser slips easily onto the 580 ex (and still won't fall off) and fits tightly on the 580 ex ii.
or you can always buy the universal version, but for those of you who have both flashes, now you don't have to buy a seperate diffuser when upgrading flashes. :p
some people hate em, some people love em, mine came with the package i bought so.....meh. :)
