our new wedding website=)

Hi all,
So we haven't done weddings for a while as we've done a lot of travelling over the past 5 years or so, but now we've settled in and have had a few bookings come in this summer(summer here in NZ) which led to the reason behind this new site. Anyway feel free to take a look and let me know what you think. it's only been up since this morning and I've had troubles with getting the blog up and running. We started with another one that was linked with the site, but in my endeavors to try and sort it out to how I would've liked it i came across our old one so it is linked in for now, unsure whether to keep it as it is or not for now. I'll let that sink in a bit i think first.

Nice site, slightly on the slow side just because of the animation. Because of the speed you could consider adding a "best wedding photos" type gallery, to make it easier for people to see the photos. Right now people see the prep photos to start with, which are nice but probably what people need to see when they first visit your site.

Who voted New Plymouth the best city in New Zealand? Was the survey done in Levin?! :p

I don't like the 2 images you have chosen for 'enter site' 'enter blog'...but love the site. I would love to see those images in colour...you have so many fabulous images - it's hard to choose which ones!

by gallery do you guys mean the first 'home page' or the actual wedding galleries themselves?

you mean just have one image on the home page, then create a best of gallery?


What I'm liking about that home page is it is loading in 3's, so that is letting me study each third and gives me a sence of anticipation for the next 3rd so I'm really liking it doing that. ut you guys have showed me a different perspective, thanks.

really, hmm interesting, I love it as a whole image, and thought it would work, but you're right, for some reason it isn't eyecatching is it, I think there's too much white. Thanks Jo. and thanks on the 'fab images' :)

I agree with Jo that your first page (enter site) could be more eye catching.....At a quick glance I would not have known it was a wedding site...and yes you do have some fabulous shots.....I actually watched the slideshow on your homepage and thought how lovely it was. Not to mention your choice of song...one of my faves...it never ceases to move me....cheers Val

Thanks Val, we did some searching for the right song, great song and great Aussie artist there eh ;-) We have also got a friend who played at our wedding who is putting together a love song at the moment, when that comes we might change it, we'll see though as i love this, the site made someone cry with happiness the other day, her photos are on the site. That to me is just awesome, I really want the experience to move people:)

done, I've chosen 2 different images for now, definitely more eye catching being in colour, I knew something wasn't right with it. might try this for a while and see, what you think?

Yeah I suppose it's a fine line but thats the idea, that we are casual people, but obviously know our stuff. Thats what we want to portray, that we are approachable and down to earth, but are technically knowledgable and creative. it's getting changed to 'about' and a photo of us will go on there soon :).
