I saw Norah Jones live in concert last night, she has an amazing voice, didn't miss a note all night. It really did show how badly her CDs are recorded. Great concert, very mellow.

The TV camera they had beside the sound desk had a massive lens, like 2/3 of a foot across! Quite amazing.

One thing I found funny was the people with baby P&S cameras taking photos from way up in the stands. No doubt they had 3X zooms, and one guy had red eye reduction turned on, which cracked me up. There's so many people who just have no idea how to use a camera.

It wouldn've been great to have a camera there to take photos, maybe at a dress rehersal, but I was more than happy to just sit and listen this time :)

What venue?? You can bring cameras to a concert??

BTW, love Norah Jones....................would like to see her in concert.

A recommendation: her guy counterpart is Amos Lee.......also a very good musician. (check it out)

Queens Wharf Event Centre, Wellington, New Zealand. I don't think you're meant to take cameras in, I didn't, but with the size of cameras now you really can't keep the out unless you body search everyone coming in. They only glanced at tickets as you went in even, so there's no chance they were going to do that!

Security guys do look for cameras, mainly video cameras though. They tend to ignore the P&S crowd, as they probably won't get any good shots, I bet if you pulled out you 20D with a big tele they would take notice real quick!

They'd probably notice that as I carried it in - it's not exactly discreet, especially with a 70-200 or 100-400 lens mounted!
