View Full Version : missing af points

I'm about to send my Mark II in for repairs and thought I'd take one last chance at an easier and less painful solution.
My AF Points have disappeared. Period. Every once in a while, for no apparent reason, they will reappear for an hour or so and then vanish again. It's been like this for several months. I'm managing to live without them, but I'm about to go on an Alaskan Cruise, and I'd hate to miss a lot of shots.

My question really is this -- has this happened to anyone else? I've been searching the forums that I know of and I seem to be the only one.

FYI, I am not in Servo mode, and all of the menu/custom function settings are correct. The fact that it works from time to time tells me that the lights themselves are not burned out.

Any thoughts?

Have you updated to the latest firmware?

Actually I haven't. Even though it doesn't address anything directly related, I guess it may "reset" something that went wrong. Good idea.

No, this is a problem in regular ONE SHOT mode.
