So, after I've fiddled for so long trying to figure out why imageshack won't let me upload, I finally found the solution.
Tee-hee, indeed 'tis my first wedding, and I had so much fun doing it, and gained a lot more experience, enemy, friends, and so on.
I'd love to get as much comments and especially critiques as I can, and I'll only get better from your honest and constructive critiques.
also, I say not bad for a 17soon-to-be 18yrs old kid, eh?
(still having the problem to make the picture directly appear here so you'll just have to click on the link)
critique away!!!!!!!@#$%

A pretty decent first attempt there Auto - you've captured some of their energy and judging by their expressions they seem comfortable with you. Good interaction is critical to good photography at a wedding.
The b/w effect was nicely done on that first shot, although a bit too grainy/noisy for my tastes... still, a good concept though. Your exposures seem to be running 1/2 - 1-stop under, likely being effected by the light wall behind and cake. This has caused you to lose some shadow detail. But you're moving in the right direction.

thank you!
as for the grainy look, i purposely made it like that because i wanted to get that moody but classic feelings. i also plan to print this particular picture on a canvas, but i have no idea where to do it.

Grainy does have it's place and can really enhance a particular effect. I'm just not sure how it will go over with wedding clients - it's strictly a matter of taste and can end up being a hit or a miss. I think it looks especially nice in some PJ work, but less so in certain formals. Keep in mind that if you enlarge this on canvas the grain will be for more noticable; just one man's opinion.
You can try Millers, Buckeye Color Lab, White House for enlargement services. Remember, you get what you pay for in photo finishing.
thank you!

do you think that it's bad?
by the way, i love all the places you've gone stuart! i'm especially fond of your project #19 except for maybe the reflections cause it stands out more than the whole thing.

No, not at all - it's a matter of taste and opinion. There is nothing really technically wrong with it other than it's a bit underexposed and some shadow detail is lost.
I come from oldschool 35mm and medium format film where many of us tried to minimize grain for wedding and event work, so my personal taste is a smoother image. Your client may absolutely love it, and ultimately that's the important thing. And thank you for the compliment. We try to hit the national parks whenever we can and I always carry a camera on our hikes :D.

I gotta give you credit for some nice shots. You just have to be mindful of your crops. A lot is cut out on most of your pictures. Good job though

oh and as for the crops it's because there are distractions like people standing behind the bg or some stuff. All my shot was mostly candid while the bg is distracted with each other and they show this emotions and that's what I try to capture. Any tips? Critiques?

It's amazing what you can do with a single lens as long as you plan, think, and pay attention to the action and your surroundings . I only got my first dSLR three years ago and could just afford a one lens. I had backup film gear for the wedding work just in case - but shot everything with that one zoom.
Thank you, appreciate it.

Yep - this is where "direction" and interpersonal crowd management skills come in. It's more than just picture taking ;).
