does anyone have any thoughts on if the "sweet-spot" aperture (f/8) is consistent with the 10d/20d/etc x1.6 focal conversion rate?
thanks-
kevin

The 'sweet spot' appeture is dependant on the lens optics. The body you mount it on makes no difference what so ever.

The sweet spot on my 135F2L is any aperture between F2 and F22

One general idea is that the 'sweet spot' of any lens is maybe 2 stops down from the largest aperture.

So if you have the 50/1.8, you'll get great pictures at f/2.8 or f/3.5, while the 18-55/3.5-5.6 will have to go to f/8 at the long end to deliver optimal performance.

For 'L' lenses, the claim very often is that they are tack sharp even wide open, with the 135/2.0 being a prime example.

Best regards,
Andy
