Bracketing using G9

I hope somebody here could enlighten me how to shoot using this feature.

I just can't get it to work. I think I might be missing a step or two.

I go to the Function button and activate BF
Click Display button to make selection of range of different aperture settings
Select continuous shooting from Function wheel

However, I can't see it to make it work, in fact I keep the shutter button down and it doesn't shoot multiple shots like it suppose to.

I also read on the manual that I would need a faster card,

I am able to use this feature on my 40D w/o any problem so what am I missing?

You need to turn the flash off and not be in auto mode

Have you tried it without setting continuous shooting?

Try using P, Av, Tv, then selecting AEB, then the turn on the AEB and then the exposure setting. (p. 131 in the manual)

As Jakpro said, read page 131, and only press the shutter button once, it is not the same as continuous shooting option. The camera will take multiple exposure shots on it's own, after your single shutter activation.

Yes that is how I shot the first time

I have used M, T.

But do you agree with the sequence of steps I took, ie.,
selecting the mode
activating aeb
click display select range of subsequent shots

I read it and I didn't interpreted as pressing the shutter once, but I will now. So what you are telling me that if I press the shutter once the camera will shoot the other remaining 2 shots?

Can you explain me the difference between pg 126 and 131. I think 126 applies for M mode and therefore I have to select MF right?

Seems that it should work for you. However, just in case some settings have been missed, unlike your 40D, the G9 auto exposure bracketing does not work in manual exposure mode.

Please look at pg127 it has listed P TC AV M shooting modes for bracketing

P. 127 is focus bracketing

You want exposure bracketing in page 131

Also, if you try focus bracketing, you only press the shutter release once.

One possibility that came to mind would be the slim chance that your camera is not working correctly. If you have followed the instructions to the letter and it does not work, I would guess that the only recourse would be to send it in for repair.

All I know is that mine works fine for bracketing when following the instructions.:lol:
