This is Soo Line Engine 1003 in Edgerton Wisconsin. This train brought Santa in on a cold Dec. night. Taken with a XTi and a 17-85 lens

Excellent shot....looks like a scene straight out of The Polar Express.

Not intending to be a happy memory buzz kill but this scene could as easily be a scene from Schindler's List as Polar Express (english language lettering notwithstanding...)
Powerful, powerful image. I'm sure different generations will look at this photo in many different ways.
Well Done and 2010 bw!

Well, believe it or not, our local chamber of commerce ( which is housed in the train depot) is cordinating a book festival for Oct 09' and guess who is coming???? The author of The Polar Express!!! They sent my pic in the packet to him, I should get to meet him, and they are bringing the train back for him to ride.

Here we go. One with a old twist on it.

I like this whole series you have done. Personally, I think the old twist is a bit over the top. I would like it better with a little less PP. Less is more...

I think the old "antique" look is neat, but I prefer just the b+w. I think time should do the antique on its own. Thanks for the great feedback!!
