The WIAA Wrestling Championships were at the Tacoma Dome this weekend. I spent about two hours down on the floor...Being a former wrestler myself, I think was more of a spectator than photographer...

Nice job...How was the light?

I shoot our local youth wrestling and we have 10 matches at a time. It get's pretty hectic but 24 mat's (my count)...DAMN, that's insane!

Looks like a Blast...I enjoy shooting wrestling (and watching)

Lighting was actually kinda weird...You'd have a bright spot at certain areas of the floor and less at others, but not too bad all in all.
Talk about non-stop action for about four hours straight(semi-finals)...Confusing!

I see you made it our boy made it to 5th place at Regionals and was an alternate at state so I did not drive up as he was not going to compete.
I see you got a shot of one of the Union kids from our area. One of our Prairie boys (Tyler) took 5th in state at 170. Good job on the photos.
I will tyry to upload a photo from regionals its been awhile...see if I can manage it.

Jesus H that's a big venue. I wrestled also, but even in the biggest tournaments there were never 24? mats.

#5 looks blown out. Love the ref in #7. Good work overall.

^^^#5 is in a spot where the lights do reflect from the edge of the dome where they're mounted, as the mats toward the middle of the arena don't have so much angle...did I explain that correctly? Oh well...

Yes Ron, explained well. Maybe just dial down the brightness a touch. It's a great shot with great faces. Cropping it in horizontal might help as well.

What's with the head gear in #5 ? With the whole head hoodie. Is there a new style since I last wore it 20 years ago? Mine was the kind in #3.

^^^The girls wear these as to keep their hair out of the way. One match I was watching, a girl actually had the whole hood and head gear ripped off...they then had to stop the match to reinstall it all.
