looking for a free (not trial) program to resize images. i know irfanview will do batch rename, i need a batch resize... looking to take a boat load of images off an 8mp camera and resize them to 4x6 @ 300dpi.

suggestions?

This must be a trick question. The answer is Irfanview.

It does batch resizing in the advanced options.

That's now 6 votes to none. :-)
And if I remember correctly it can use Lanczos algorithm to resize, which has been reputed to be better than PS's bicubic. I never put it through any tests though.

This has got to be one of the best pieces of freeware I've seen.

suggestions?
IrfanView:
- choose "File" / "Batch Conversion/Rename..."
- check "Use advanced options"
- click button "Set advanced options"
- in the dialog you can set options for cropping, resizing, changing colour depth, mirror, rotate, sharpen, brightness, contrast, saturation, etc...
