Where would be the best place to buy the Tamron 28-75? This sounds like what I need. Will this work well for indoor low light conditions? Also for outdoor sports of sports (kids games, I'll be close)? Thanks

I bought mine from 17th Street Photo, B&H is also a good place. To answer your question, it works pretty well for low light shooting, better than your 18-55 will. I just bought a Canon 24-70 2.8L and still have my Tamron. The Canon definately focuses faster, especially in low light situations, but the Tamron isn't bad. Outdoor for sports it will be fine provided you are very close :-).

You will be happy with this lens, but for the sports side of things you may want to look into a Canon 70-200 f4, that is a wonderful lens.

Tristatecamera.com has it for $349, plus there's a $40 rebate (regardless of vendor). I actually bought from JandR.com, got them to price match the tristate price, and got their 2nd day shipping for only $15.

I got mine from http://bhphotovideo.com , they're reliable.

For low light indoors pics consider the 50mm F1.8 as well, or a flash like the 420EX. I use flash or wide lens depending on circumstances - I prefer the flash but sometimes it's not possible.

Do a search on www.shopping.com it's where I always go first before I buy. B&H is usually expensive.
