Can anyone advise me as to how to set my ixus 330
up to shoot the moon. ie.shutter speed and exposure times ? The weather is fine this evening.

What size of zoom do you have on your camera? I don't know the model you have but unless you have a really powerful optical zoom the moon will appear tiny. It will also be surrounded in a sea of blackness or grey depending on your exposure settings. I own a Powershot A40 with it's 3 times optical and 2.5 digital zoom and even when they are both combined the moon can't be magnified anymore. You will also need a tripod ir some other support to stop camera shake.

Here is a shot I took setting my camera on the B.B.Q. lid and aiming it through a pair of 7x50 binouculars. It's not the greatest photo but I was amused at the results given my method.
