I know that some of you have posted already but feel the need to jump in. I really can say this was my first time shooting bicycles. I give credit to the others that have covered this already its harder than it looks. Learned to use manual focus very quickly. I actually got the riders surronding him in focus but yet he's slightly OOF?

There's no Exif in your pictures.
Don't take this the wrong way; but WHY on earth would you MF at an event with a subject moving as fast as this?
It LOOKS like a depth of field problem to me. You probably shot in Shutter Priority and didn't raise your ISO enough to get a decent Depth of field. A shallow DOF + Manual focusing resulted in the wrong riders being in focus.
Also; what camera/lens did you use?
Your shots are very good; you had a great location; good timing and no idiots running in front of you; just a problem focusing that kept this from being a GREAT shot.
Good Luck

Thanks, Wow no EXIF data? I'm wondering if it's Flickr somehow. I know when looking at the image on Flickr the data is shown. Looking back and remembering where I stood for those shots it was a DOF issue because not every shot was like that particular one. I had the 1.4 extender on when I shot the begining set. I also failed to switch from Av to Tv.
I was using a MKIIN and 70-200 L. Lesson learned
