A pair of shots of an American Pelican being caught off guard . . . lol. I was able to get within fifteen feet or so before this one of a trio jumped for the air. How cool is that, wind pushing out from between the feathers, water splashing and off they go, gliding into the wind.
There was a lone Blue Heron with them as well. Perhaps next time my shots of him/her will be better.

Just have to smile when you look at these awkward birds. BTW-how did you know they were American? Did they show you their passport? LOL. Gotta love that 100-400!

Another set of great photos... I especially love the first one! I aspire to be like you...can't wait to get up the mountain a little later this spring and see what I can find.

You have to get out to find that which nature will give you that day . . . I hope you have as much fun as I, Maureen.
Tammie . . . yes this lens is just the best and of course if a little is good, bigger and better must be . . . well you know. I am just happy to be able to shoot things people can recognize, lol.
Thank you Stan . . . as always.
