I ordered 2 LensPens a while back. Worked pretty well initially. Didn't use them for a few months. Then took them out to use them and they were just leaving dusty/dry smears all over. Not like they originally worked previously.
Thought maybe they dried out, so I ordered another brand new from amazon.g
Got it and it's doing the same thing. causing more smears and leaving dry matter more than anything else.
Anybody have same experience??

Before you used them, did you turn them in the cap a few times?

No. I'll try that.

It is actually in the directions to turn the cap of the lens pen before/after use. Let us know if it works.

Glad I read this. I bought a Lenspen but haven't needed to use it yet so this is good to know. I probably would have had the same problem.

I've got 2 that are both 2 years old at least.
One was used in the field, got a bit dirty, so is labeled such. Mostly gets used to dust off the body, and remove large bits of gunk from the from of filters.
The other has only beed used for touch ups after a more througher clean with lens tissue and solution, and works perfectly everytime. I just give the cap a little twist before I use it.

I've only had my lenspen for a few weeks now; I read on the directions to turn the cap before using, so that is what I have been doing.
the pen is amazing, now if I have a smudge on my lens, i just pull out this pen, instead of having to clean, wipe, re-clean to get rid of them like I have in the past with the regular, tissue & fluid cleaners.
If you look into the cap of the lenspen it looks like a fine grit in there..

Looks like there is an insert inside the cap. Not sure what it does exactly, but must be why they tell you to twist. I tried it and it seemed to work better. Thanks all

There is no liquid in a lens pen to dry. It uses a dry graphite "lubricant".
The dust you see might be that graphite.
The twist and also "tamping" it on a paper towel should get it back in order.

The lenspen is GOLDEN and very convenient! Make sure you twist the cap before use.
