He does seem to portray being smart. I think he may be book smart. Thanks, for the comment. I also put to test using studio strobes out doors. I think I need more practice. I am pleased with a few.

Just a quick comment, look nice but the ones inside- his pupils are too dilated. Maybe try having more ambient light directed at his eyes (small lamp) to have them close more. Or you could photoshop them.

Nice portrait series but I'm curious - to my eye the pupils are too large in the indoor shots - is that natural? they just look too ....deep. i prefer the outdoor shots, he seems a lot more animated in those. but excellent control of light and the colours really pop
Ooops - just saw you already addressed the pupil query. Was ambient light in the room pretty dark?

Thanks! Yes, the ambient was very low.

Yeah the pupils looked as big as cat pupils when they are scared. Also, may want to photoshop the flash out of the pupils. I guess that's a flash. Whatever those white squares may be. I'm the worst photographer here, but those were the couple things I caught.
The one up from his last picture looks like he's a little nervous or unsure of what he wants to do. Could be the over achievement attitude of him. Something about his smile that just doesn't seem right.
Outside of that I'm sure he's a charming young man. He just seemed a little unsure about what he needed to do, but the pictures are very pleasing. Nothing like kids in tuxedos and dresses.
