Has anyone ever been able to correct photos from film that was damaged in the scanner at the airport? My dad took my niece on a trip to baseball spring training. On the way back, he forgot to take the film out of his checked baggage. :( When he developed it, he said it was black and white (color film) and very grainy. I haven't gotten any samples from him yet, just wondering if anyone's had to deal with this before?? The film was 110 and he thinks it was 400 ISO.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I have worked in a drug store mini lab for about 5 years and I haven't really found any way to fix film that has been damaged from airport scanners. Typically the damage would look like a white wavy line through the photos. I suppose with a lot of Photoshop work you might be able to remove the distortion, but there isn't much a regular drug store photolab can do. The higher the ISO, the more damage that will occur to the film. Sorry to hear about the situation, I hope there is something out there you can do that I haven't heard of yet to fix the pics. Good luck.

Thanks, D. My Dad has since sent me one of the photos and it is pretty much unrecognizable. I think he's going to have to rely on his memories of the trip (which, he says, are all he needs - they had a great time) :)
