Please submit photos using any 70-200 f/2 + lenses that where used for indoor sports. I am looking at purchasing this size lens to go with my new Rebel XT and have upto $850 CAN to spend ($650 US). Any help would be appreciated.:)

You can search by lens at pbase.com . Your options in lenses are the Sigma 70-200 F2.8 or the Canon 70-200 F4L, there's a review here (http://www.slo-foto.net/reviews-56-page1.html). With that budget your only option might be the Canon, which has a great reputation.

i have read both the reviews but would like to see actual photos. I am concerned about the reach of the lens in an arena for ice skating and dog shows.

Yep, gotta agree. There is not much in your price range for what you want. Keep your eyes out over on Fred Miranda and e-bay, you might come up with something.
The least expensive I have seen the sigma 70-200mm f2.8 HSM (new)has been$692.00 (USD) over on deltainternational, and even most of the second hand ones are in the $700 to $800 (USD) range.
If you don't need the zoom then you might want to look at some prime's as they tend to be a little less expensive than the zooms.
What type of indoor shooting were you thinking of?
oops! see now. For ice skating it really will depend on the rink. In a new one, used for higher level hockey (Junior A/B) there might be enough light to shoot f4.0, but in the smaller, older rinks you will definately need a f2.X or even 1.8 (the 135 comes to mind) but of course the price goes up as the aperature comes down.

Here's one...please excuse the colors, very hard ice surface to white balance. Used the Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS on a 20D. Shot it at 1/500, f3.5, ISO1600 and focal length 130mm. Hope this helps.

That lengh lens is hands down the best for indoor sports. I shoot lots of highschool sports, basketball, swimming, water polo, track, football...that lens is hands down the ONLY one I would use.

Well kinda half indoors / half outdoors, you can see the last rays of sun coming though the stadium on the dirt.......about 5 pm. Probably just a tad bit more light than indoors. Canon 70-200 2.8 (non IS) L.

You can easily find the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 used for $600-650 on either FM or eBay. Post a WTB:Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 for $650 over there in the buy/sell area and you'll probably have one in two days.
You just missed one on FM from two days ago (sale pending):

Currently, my main lens is a Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 model. I shoot a lot of hockey pictures, and, for the most part, the Tamron works just fine for me. Admittedly, it doesn't have the reach of a 200mm lens, but I bought it to be my "every day" lens. Much of what I do is geared more towards the web and 6MP images aren't necessarily desireable, so I can do a lot of pruning and trimming to get the images I want. Some examples of my pictures can be seen at http://www.arachnidconsulting.com/Images/Sports/Hockey/Rec_league/20050107_Blues_vs_Blackhawks/
The pictures are of a local Atlanta Rec League game.
