Mono.......... How'm I doing?

Ok......... I prefer monotone (doesn't have to black + white) to full colour. More , I also prefer the darker (literally) kind of image.... So how am I doing? A couple of lo-res images shown because I've already upped them for anouther forum which has a smaller file size restriction. Crits welcome, as this is the way I see myself going.

Like the second one a lot. Maybe a touch more DOF would have looked even better?

The contrast is a bit too reduced on the first, although the toning works a treat. I'd maybe crop it to a letterbox as well, taking off the extreme left and the expanse at the bottom under the shelves.

I think you're definitely headed in a good direction!

Thanks Mr. Munkie - That second pic was one of my first pics with the 50L, so was taking everything at f1.2, just for the novelty of it ;)

As for the second, 'letter box' is a good idea, but I work for print and as I don't have (can't afford) a decent printer, rely on a print shop for final output...... so they have to be standard sizes. I will try a different crop based on what you say though.:)
